What’s it Like to Live in Arvada, CO?
Meet 8z Real Estate. Trying to keep your list of priorities in order as you do research online for a place that you might want to live in can be a little stressful. That’s why we have decided to make things just a little bit easier for you. The following is a quick overview Arvada by one of our own agents:
What’s it like to live in Arvada?
Arvada could be sold as the ultimate bedroom community. It’s a suburb located directly outside of Denver making it an easy commute for those who work in the city. However, I wouldn’t exactly be surprised if you’re a little hesitant about moving to a place that I just referred to as a “bedroom community” – it can sound kind of… well, boring. I understand that the term “bedroom community” doesn’t instill a lot of excitement in most people. Well, believe it or not, the small town of Arvada actually encompasses almost 23,000 acres and has an estimated population of around 108,530. Not too shabby for a “bedroom community.”
The city Arvada has also gone to great lengths over the years to distance itself from being just a bedroom community for Denver. It’s done this by focusing on providing the best possible quality of life for its residents by creating an amenity-filled community that’s not only safe and peaceful, but that also has plenty of things to keep you and your family busy. What exactly does this mean? It means that in addition to quick access to Denver and the Denver International Airport via three nearby interstate highways, the city has put special emphasis on amenities such as its parks and recreation system, its historic downtown area, its cultural centers, its educational system and much more, making Arvada not just a convenient place to live in, but a vibrant one as well.
What types of homes are in Arvada?
Although rather large for a “bedroom community,” Arvada is still a suburb, which means that you’ll find mostly single-family homes here. You’ll have no trouble finding a home that suits the needs of your family, whether you need two bedrooms and one bath or five bedrooms and four baths – just speak to one of our agents about what it is you’re looking for.
As far as style is concerned, for the most part you’ll find ranch-style and split-level style homes, which are the types of homes that the suburban areas of Colorado are most known for. This doesn’t mean that every home will look the same like you might imagine the typical “suburb” might – you’ll still be able to find plenty of homes with unique looks that will fit your personal taste, such as those that incorporate brick or stucco. Again, our agents will help find homes that fit your needs as well as your personal taste. One thing that you can expect from any home in Arvada is a gorgeous view – not surprising considering the proximity of Arvada to the Rocky Mountains.
What’s unique about Arvada?
Arvada actually has a very rich history that goes all the way back to the Colorado gold rush. As such, it should come as no surprise that the town still has some of its historic elements. Specifically, its historic downtown is actually listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and is one of the more popular areas in town amongst residents for shopping and dining. One of the three transit stops planned as part of the future metropolitan FasTracks light rail system will be located here.
Where are the good schools in Arvada?
If finding a suitable neighborhood in which to raise your family is one of your top priorities, then making sure that your kids will receive the best possible education should be a notable concern for you. Thankfully, Arvada is known for having a very strong public education system. Many of these schools are excellent, but to find out more information about schools within specific neighborhoods, be sure to speak with one of our agents.

What are the best things to do in Arvada?
Since Colorado is known for its amazing scenery, it makes sense that Arvada puts a lot of emphasis on its parks and recreation system. There is an unbelievable trail system that actually links with the foothills of the Rocky Mountains on the west and the Denver trails on the east that is well worth exploring and which also consists of thousands of acres of open spaces and parks.
