What’s it like to live in Centennial?

South of Denver, Centennial is a bastion of friendly neighbors, safe streets, and some of the best schools in the state. Boasting a spot on Money Magazine’s “100 Best Small Cities to Live,” Centennial takes the best of small town life and offers it within a pastoral setting under the gaze of the Rocky Mountains. Invigorating and exceptional, I think Centennial feels as wonderful as it looks.

One of the best features of Centennial is that the community feels welcoming toward families of all shapes and sizes. Are you looking for a place with terrific schools for the kids? Centennial has that covered. Want to retire in a quiet town that’s still close to everything? You’ll find the perfect home in Centennial. Looking to buy your first home? You’ll love finding a house that satisfies your every wish and amenity for the perfect home.

What types of homes are in Centennial?

Homes in Centennial run the gamut from cozy condos to spacious single-family homes, and the city features an impressive number of new and renovated homes in modern sizes well above 2,000 square feet. The architectural sense of many neighborhoods in Centennial is one that I think feels established and ready to welcome you and your family for decades to come.

One of the prevailing features of homes in Centennial is the spacious quality and generous square footage. States where the Rocky Mountains march their way across the landscape feel expansive and open, and the same might be said of the homes residents tend to build in cities like Centennial. The mountains are grand, and so are the homes.

What’s unique about Centennial?

As part of the Denver-Aurora metropolitan area, Centennial was dubbed the 15th Safest City in America by CQ Press, which seems extraordinary since over 100,000 people live in this affable locale. Once a city reaches a certain point, the sheer population numbers seem to invite a little chaos, but that hasn’t been the case in Centennial.

Living in Centennial feels like you’re living in a town where you know all of your neighbors, and there just happens to be about 100,000 of them instead of a couple hundred. A walk down your neighborhood’s broad streets past beautifully tended homes, and the wide, open skies that are so special to Colorado will feel like you’ve come home whether you’ve lived in Centennial for a decade, or a just a month.

Where are the good schools in Centennial?

Centennial sits within the Littleton Public Schools and Cherry Creek School District, which have garnered serious awards for performance in the state. For example, the student-run newspaper at Arapahoe High School won the National Pacemaker Award in 2005, which is equivalent to a Pulitzer Prize at the high school level.

What are the best things to do in Centennial?

Suggesting that people love the outdoors in Centennial wouldn’t surprise anyone, and I’m sure you already know that Colorado features one of the most active citizens anywhere in the nation. However, a prevailing feature of Centennial is the balance between exciting trips spent hiking, rafting, and camping alongside the classic, small-town pursuits like bowling, movies, and mini golf.

Colorado’s magnificent mountains feature over 50 “fourteeners,” which means the state has over 50 mountains that stretch over 14,000 feet into the sky. That’s more than any other state in the country, including the mountain-filled state of Alaska. Of course, if you’re looking for an activity that’s a little less mind-blowing than dancing on the ridge of a 14,000 foot mountain peak, you can also head down the road to Centennial Center Park to spend time at the city’s unique and awesome water playground.
