What’s it like to live in Columbine Valley?

Columbine Valley has a reputation for being an exclusive community, but this term shouldn’t be taken as a negative in any way. Maybe a more appropriate word is independent. This attitude is even how the town first came together. In the 1950s, residents of the Columbine Valley Homeowners Association living around a local golf course decided to officially form their own community, rather than risk being incorporated into nearby growing cities.

Residents range from younger successful career professionals just starting their families to couples who have already done well and are seeking a nice home base for work and play. Some are empty-nesters, which means more time for walking, yard work, or golf!

There’s a big social component to life in Columbine Valley with fun community activities like an Easter egg hunt and a Fourth of July parade. It’s easy to access bigger cities like Littleton and Denver, but still be far from all their hubbub.

What types of homes are in Columbine Valley?

Without sharing dollar figures, the value of homes here is significantly higher than the rest of the state. But there are still deals available! What are the best things to do in Columbine Valley?

Hope you like golf! For more than 50 years, it has been the favorite activity. Today, there’s an 18-hole Championship course designed by Henry Hughes plus a 9-hole Par 3 course. How much do people like golf? So much that the city permits residents to drive their carts on public streets. This makes it easy to get to different points on the course or run slower-speed errands without needing to drive the car.

Even if you don’t consider yourself much of a duffer, there are plenty of walking trails. Plus, the 40,000-square foot private country club is the perfect social spot, with a lounge, tennis courts, swimming pool and more.
