Thinking About Moving to Bellvue?
Meet 8z Real Estate. Searching for the perfect home doesn’t have to be a chore for you. Our team has logged countless hours scouting the neighborhoods and homes in the area. While you can browse for homes online, we wanted to give you a local, personal feel for the area. Here’s what one of our Bellvue real estate agents had to say about the area:
What’s it like to live in Bellvue?
I would say that my first impression of Bellvue is that it’s like living inside a Colorado tourist postcard. Here’s what I mean. Bellvue is wide open ranch land. It has stunning mountain vistas of the Colorado Rockies Front Range. It’s a winding mountain canyon with a wild rushing river running through it. Bellvue, the town, is simply a couple crossroads, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. It’s not much more than a post office, school, and a church. But as a place, the Bellvue area captures the essence of Colorado living.
What are a few of life’s “little things” that touch your soul? If the feeling of wide open spaces, soaking in inspiring mountain views, and the alternating calm and rush of an ever changing mountain canyon river that promises surprises around every bend lifts your spirit, you’ll love the Bellvue area.
What types of homes are in Bellvue?
You need to realize that Bellvue is a rural area. Yet, it’s only 15 miles northwest of Fort Collins, the third largest metro area in Colorado. You’ll find ranches, bed and breakfast homes, and newer Colorado contemporary style homes on the plains and foothill areas of Bellvue. Most of these homes are larger with large lots of several acres or more. As you head up the Cache La Poudre river canyon, you’ll discover older, smaller cabins set along the river.
I suggest talking with one of our real estate agents to get a feel for the area and the home options available that fit your lifestyle. If you love the open spaces and love horses, a Bellvue ranch might be perfect for you. If you love fishing and hiking, and want to wake up to the sound of the rushing river, a cozy cabin along the Poudre is tough to beat.
What’s unique about Bellvue?
Two things impress me about the Bellvue area and set it apart from other parts of Colorado. First of all, it’s amazing how different the area feels from the suburban sprawl of nearby Fort Collins. While it’s only 15 minutes away, you really have the feeling of the West. You’re quickly transported into a picture postcard of wide open spaces, stunning mountain views, and cattle and horse ranches.
When you drive a couple miles west you enter a different Colorado world. The Cache La Poudre river canyon is a rugged, rustic, outdoor playground. The river is littered with people fishing, kayaking, and rafting in the summer. You find hiking, mountain biking, and horseback trails. The area has a patchwork of national forest dirt roads to explore and find secluded campsites. One hidden gem located up the Cache La Poudre canyon is The Mishawaka Amphitheatre. People come from coast to coast to catch live music events from May through September in this river-side outdoor venue.
Where are the good schools in Bellvue?
The Poudre School District provides public education options for the Bellvue area. The Stove Prairie Elementary School is located in the small town of Bellvue. The Poudre School District offers a variety of Middle School and High School options, including charter schools and lab schools.

- Centennial High School | Grades 9-12 | 330 East Laural St. Fort Collins, CO 80524
If you’re interested in a degree program or continuing education, Colorado State University is located 15 miles away in Fort Collins.
What are the best things to do in Bellvue?
Here’s what I love about the Bellvue area. It’s a quick escape from the city. All the conveniences of shopping, restaurants, and a major college town are found only 15 minutes away in Fort Collins. As a university town and budding high tech center, you can find lots of varied and exciting career opportunities. Yet, you can easily and quickly escape the city life. Bellvue seems like a world away. You can saddle up and ride your horse. Relax on your deck, drink your favorite micro-brew, and soak in the sun and mountain views.
Or, if you’re up for some more adventure, load up your kayak, mountain bike, and fishing gear and head up the Poudre canyon. What’s really great about the Bellvue area and the Poudre canyon is since it’s located north of Fort Collins, it’s not as packed with fellow outdoor enthusiasts as areas around Denver and Colorado Springs. If you’re looking to escape the crowds, this is one of the places to do it in Colorado.
Is Bellvue right for me?
Are you looking for a spot in Colorado that’s a bit quieter, offers amazing mountain views, provides you with quick access to outdoor adventures, yet is still close to shopping, restaurants, and cultural activities? Does the idea of having space to spread out, riding horses, and waking up to drop-dead gorgeous mountain vistas sound like the perfect lifestyle for you?
If any of these things are priorities for you, I suggest you talk with a real estate agent when you find time in your schedule to check out the Bellvue area. Explain what’s important to you, the type of home you’re looking for, and we can get to work and help you find the perfect home for your lifestyle.
