What types of homes are in Kersey?
Much like many homes in the northern section of Colorado, Kersey is very heavy on the ranch style homes. They ranch style fits well with the atmosphere that is Kersey, it’s part of the charm of the rustic and down home feel around these parts. Being situated a good distance away from the Aurora area it you get the country feel, this means big back yards and lots of space to grow your family. I’ve had the good fortune to have grown up in the small town setting myself, and I can promise you there’s nothing better than being able to sit out on your porch, having a drink of your favorite “adult beverage,” and enjoying the quiet surroundings. There’s something to be said about being able to kick back in a rocking chair, just watching the world go by from your front porch. It’s the thing country songs are born from, which blends well with the flow of a town like Kersey.
What’s unique about Kersey?
Honestly, the most special thing about Kersey is that it’s such a small town, the closeness of community as well as the overall feel of that down home country setting take Kersey out of the mountains and ski resorts that are so commonly attributed to Colorado and make you feel like you’re in some sweet unsettled part of the world. It’s an unspoiled, somewhat under developed, but no less spectacular place to live. Growing up in this type of setting has made me into a much better person and I’m certain it would have the same effect on any children you decide to raise while living in Kersey.
Where are the good schools in Kersey?
The one downside anyone would living in a small town is that you don’t have as wide a selection of schools as other, much larger cities. In the case of Kersey, you’ve only got three schools in the surrounding area. The benefit of this would be that your children will likely grow up and be connected with the same kids for as long as they’re in school. This is great as it allows for much stronger bonds and friendships over the years.
